About the role#
This is a full-time co-op position for students interested in embedded software and DevSecOps. You will join the research and development team to support the creation of next-generation optical transport products. This role is based on-site in Ottawa.
What you'll do#
- Build automated solutions for optical transport products.
- Solve complex technical problems as they arise.
- Collaborate closely with Firmware R&D teams.
- Improve the quality and robustness of firmware and hardware tests.
What you'll need#
- You are a 3rd or 4th year student in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.
- Strong skills in object-oriented software design and implementation in any language.
- Experience with instrumentation and automation.
- Familiarity with optical systems, optical instruments, and optical fibers.
- Proficiency or experience with tools such as Git, GitHub, Bash, PowerShell, C#, Python, Javascript, XML, gRPC, Jira, or AI coding assistants like ChatGPT and Copilot.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a drive to complete tasks correctly on the first attempt.
