About the role#
Kepler Communications is looking for an Embedded Software Engineering Intern to join our team for a 4-month term starting in January 2027. You will contribute to the development of software for our satellite constellation, including on-board systems, payload software, IoT modules, and ground equipment.
What you'll do#
- Design and develop reliable software for space and ground systems.
- Write thorough tests and documentation for your code.
- Participate in software design and code review processes.
- Work with electrical, digital design, and operations teams to identify features and define system architecture.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science or Computer Engineering degree program, with plans to return to studies after the internship.
- Demonstrated experience working in embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C/C++.
- Experience with embedded operating systems and build systems, such as OpenEmbedded/Yocto or FreeRTOS.
- Experience with Embedded Linux, including user-space development.
- Ability to use git for version control.

- This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Toronto, Ontario.
- The term begins in January 2027 and lasts for 4 months.
