About the role#
Ericsson is seeking a Software Developer Co-op to join our team in Ottawa for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position requiring 40 hours of work per week. You will work on-site to support 5G product development. We offer four distinct project areas, including 5G software development, tools development, data science, and analytics, which we will discuss during the interview process.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with colleagues using Agile methods.
- Develop real-time 5G base station software.
- Apply AI and machine learning skills to development tasks.
- Write automated 5G test cases and build supporting test tools.
- Perform feature and integration testing using 5G lab equipment.
- Work on 5G simulations, including signal processing.
- Create command-line and web-based tools for software development.
- Investigate and resolve issues found during testing.
- Generate test data for design validation.
- Troubleshoot and fix issues within the test environment.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree program at an accredited four-year university.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale or equivalent.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++, Perl, Java SpringBoot, or HTML/CSS.
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communication in English.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week.
