About the role#
Join a small, experienced R&D IT Operations team that leads operational practices and supplier governance for services supporting Ericsson R&D. We are looking for a software developer to help simplify complex operational workflows, improve connectivity between systems, and deliver practical tools for teams supporting thousands of R&D engineers. You will work directly with operational leaders and R&D groups to translate requirements into reliable solutions.
What you'll do#
- Analyze operational processes to identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and connect workflows.
- Develop internal agents, workflow automations, integrations, and services to improve R&D IT operations.
- Connect systems, data sources, and business processes using Python, SQL, Microsoft Power Automate, Power Query, and APIs.
- Design, deploy, and manage task-oriented agents for activities such as information gathering, routing, validation, and notifications.
- Coordinate multiple agents and workflow components to complete end-to-end operational processes.
- Configure and use platforms like Microsoft Copilot Studio and AWS development services.
- Evaluate the best approach for specific tasks, whether using traditional automation, software services, or AI agents.
- Collaborate with R&D groups and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver solutions.
- Contribute to operational programs, service improvements, and governance initiatives.
- Configure virtual machines and development environments for testing and deployment.
- Document process flows, system interactions, implementation decisions, and operating procedures.
- Apply secure development, access-control, data-protection, testing, and monitoring practices.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated software development capability through academic, personal, freelance, open-source, or professional projects.
- Experience automating workflows, integrating systems, or building internal tools.
- Programming experience in Python and working knowledge of SQL.
- Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, data transformation, workflow orchestration, and system integration.
- Experience or interest in AI agent creation, deployment, and alignment with business workflows.
- Exposure to prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), model integration, agent orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP), cloud development, or virtual machines.
- Ability to work independently in an environment with evolving requirements.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical options and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
- Curiosity, sound judgment, initiative, and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- Bilingualism in French and English is required.

- Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027 (starting January 11, 2027).
- Duration: 4-8 months.
- Work Modality: On-site.
