This position is for a Student Research Assistant working under Professor Christopher Hawk during the Fall 2026 term. The role involves supporting human-subjects research and background academic efforts. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen Institute of Technology, reside within the state of Washington, and maintain good academic standing. The position is on-site and requires 10 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist with human-subjects research by setting up lab spaces, running study protocols, and managing participant compensation.
- Organize and consolidate research data while maintaining accurate records.
- Conduct literature searches and manage academic articles.
- Contribute to literature reviews and the preparation of IRB applications.
- Develop study materials or stimuli and assist with coding and data analysis.
- Track and report work hours accurately.
What you'll need#
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience with literature reviews or data collection.
- Proficiency in R for data analysis and experience with Python.
- Completion of PSY-101 with a grade of B or better.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, with a work environment consisting of 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: August 31, 2026, to December 18, 2026.
- Compensation: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, based on previous terms worked at the institution.
- Note: Students may not work during any time they have a scheduled class.
