About the role#
This is a part-time Student Research Assistant position for the Fall 2026 term, working under the supervision of Professor Christopher Hawk. The role supports human-subjects research and academic background efforts within the psychology department.
What you'll do#
- Assist with human-subjects research, including setting up lab space, running study protocols, and compensating participants.
- Manage data by consolidating, organizing, coding, and analyzing raw information.
- Conduct literature searches, catalog academic articles, and contribute to literature reviews and IRB applications.
- Maintain accurate research records and report hours worked.
- Develop study materials or stimuli as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience with literature reviews or data collection.
- Proficiency in R for data analysis and experience with Python.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, with the role requiring 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 31 to December 18, 2026).
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Hours: 10 hours per week.
- Compensation: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, depending on prior terms worked at DigiPen.
- Eligibility: Students must reside in Washington and cannot work during scheduled class times. Applicants should ideally be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher and have passed PSY-101 with a B or better, though waivers may be available for qualified candidates.
