About the role#
This is a student position supporting the teaching laboratories for chemistry and biochemistry courses at Albright College. You will work with instructors to prepare, set up, and clean up laboratory activities. Your work ensures that teaching labs run smoothly throughout the semester.
What you'll do#
- Assist instructors with the setup and implementation of laboratory activities.
- Prepare solutions and organize materials for student use.
- Test experiments and procedures before they are used in class.
- Maintain and clean laboratory equipment, benches, and preparation spaces.
- Answer student questions and monitor progress during lab periods.
- Collect and analyze data related to course experiments.
- Dispose of chemical and laboratory waste according to college policy.
- Comply with all safety mandates, including wearing a lab coat and safety glasses.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one college-level chemistry course with a laboratory component.
- Completion of the specific laboratory course for which you are applying.
- Experience with safe laboratory practices.
- Familiarity with analytical balances and common glassware.
