About the role#
Auxiliary Services Student Workers serve as the first point of contact for visitors at Albright College. You will support the campus bookstore, art gallery, and theatre program. This role involves representing the college to students and visitors while managing sales, ticket distribution, and general information. You will rotate between these areas to help maintain daily operations.
What you'll do#
- Greet visitors and answer questions in person or over the phone.
- Process transactions using POS software, including cash, credit, and student account charges.
- Provide information regarding gallery exhibitions, theatre performances, and merchandise.
- Assist with event logistics, including setup, teardown, catering preparation, and beverage service.
- Conduct opening and closing procedures for your assigned area.
- Handle inventory tasks such as pricing, stocking, and counting items.
- Assist with shipping, packing, and general cleaning.
- Support gallery and theatre operations by taking attendance, installing exhibits, or performing research.
- Notify staff immediately regarding security or maintenance concerns.
- Apply for shifts that align with your personal academic schedule.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Albright College.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to engage with visitors proactively.
- Ability to handle money and conduct sales securely.
- While prior work experience is not required, familiarity with ticketing or POS systems is a plus.
- An interest in the performing arts, visual arts, retail, or the college community is preferred.
