About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Teaching Assistant for MUS-120/MUS-120L for the Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 term. This position involves supporting the instructor with classroom operations, grading, and student mentorship. This is a paid, on-site student employment opportunity based in Redmond, Washington.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom, including equipment setup, facilitating presentations, and managing attendance.
- Provide support to students with course assignments, software, and hardware.
- Perform pre-grading of assessments and assist with grading outside of class hours.
- Meet regularly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty coordination.
- Hold meetings with students outside of class to answer questions and assist with course work.
- Track and report all time worked.
What you'll need#
- Current status as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Completion of MUS-120/MUS-120L with a grade of B or better.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Good Academic Standing (not on Academic Warning).
- Proficiency with course materials, concepts, and tools.
- Comfort interacting with peers on an instructional level as a mentor.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, stooping, and kneeling.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. You must reside within the State of Washington to perform this role.
- Term: August 31, 2026, through April 23, 2027.
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per week.
- Note: Student employees are not permitted to work during scheduled class times.
