About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Teaching Assistant for MUS-120/MUS-120L for the Fall 2026 through Spring 2027 term. This position involves supporting the instructor with classroom operations, grading, and student mentorship. You must be a currently matriculated student at DigiPen and reside within the state of Washington to be eligible.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom with equipment setup, operation, and facilitating presentations.
- Support students with course assignments, software, and hardware during labs.
- Take attendance and submit attendance sheets.
- Perform pre-grading of course work and assist with grading outside of class.
- Meet regularly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty adjustments.
- Meet with students outside of class hours to answer questions and provide academic assistance.
- Track and report all hours worked.
What you'll need#
- Must have taken and passed MUS-120/MUS-120L with a grade of B or better.
- Proficiency with course materials, concepts, and tools.
- Ability to interact with other students on an instructional level as a mentor.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
- Must be in Good Academic Standing and not on Academic Warning.
- Positive and supportive attitude.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Term: August 31, 2026, to April 23, 2027.
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per week.
- Note: Students are not permitted to work during scheduled class times. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform tasks requiring fine finger dexterity.
