About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Student Teaching Assistant for DES-340 Level Design II for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the instructor in the classroom, assists students with technical questions, and manages grading responsibilities. This is a paid, on-site position based in Redmond, Washington.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor in the classroom, including equipment setup and facilitating student presentations.
- Grade weekly assignments and projects using provided guidelines, ensuring consistency, clarity, and timely delivery.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their work.
- Support students during labs and designated office hours, including online sessions if required.
- Track and report hours worked accurately.
- Meet weekly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty coordination.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Must have previously passed DES-214 or DES-240, as well as DES-340.
- Proficiency with course material and strong technical skills, including experience with Unreal, UEFN, and the Portal 2 editor.
- Strong understanding of level design techniques, including pacing and guidance.
- Ability to work in-person on the Redmond campus during scheduled class and lab times without conflict.
- Must reside within the State of Washington.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform tasks requiring fine finger dexterity.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington.
- Term: Fall 2026 (August 31 to December 11, 2026).
- Schedule: Approximately 10 hours per week.
- Class Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. – 12:50 p.m. or Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 – 10:50 a.m.
