About the role#
This work-study position provides hands-on experience within the Human Immunophenotyping core at Benaroya Research Institute. You will support the Buckner and Long Labs by assisting with daily operations and immunology research projects. This role involves 10 to 19 hours of work per week, scheduled between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Your specific schedule will be determined quarterly to accommodate your classes.
What you'll do#
- Perform routine lab tasks and assist technical personnel.
- Help set up experiments.
- Maintain and organize laboratory records and data.
- Prepare media and reagents, including stock solutions.
- Keep the laboratory area clean and orderly.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Check and replenish laboratory supplies.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Enrollment in a university-level science degree program, such as biology or chemistry.
- Current or past coursework in biology or chemistry.
- Past laboratory experience.
- Experience with molecular biology techniques is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to learn new skills quickly.
- Proof of work-study eligibility.
