About the role#
Join our Interventional Cardiology and Vascular Therapies team. We create technologies to diagnose and treat peripheral vascular disease. As an R&D Engineering Intern, you will focus on the design, development, and integration of these medical technologies. You will gain exposure to the full product development cycle while working alongside a cross-functional team.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of medical devices, including feasibility studies and prototype creation.
- Perform testing and validation procedures.
- Support investigations into failure modes and conduct root cause analyses to address technical challenges.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant regulatory requirements and standards.
- Collaborate with teams across project management, process development, quality, marketing, and manufacturing.
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, such as technical reports and design history files.
- Present project updates and technical insights to engineers and managers.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor or graduate degree in Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Ability to commit to one of the full internship program periods: May 17th - August 6th OR May 24th - August 13th.
- Experience collaborating on engineering projects in school or a professional environment.
- Excellent problem solving, communication, and time management skills.
- Biomedical or anatomy experience or aptitude.
- Basic understanding of design controls and risk management in the medical device industry.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site role based in Maple Grove, Minnesota.
- Reliable transportation to and from the corporate location is required.
- This is a full-time, paid summer 2027 internship.
