About the role#
This is a 12-month co-op or new graduate placement beginning in January 2027. You will work on developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment. The role involves providing input on product design and manufacturability during both concept and commercialization phases. You will focus on continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
What you'll do#
- Support the development and optimization of manufacturing processes by drafting 3D prototypes in SolidWorks and coordinating research and testing.
- Assist with product development projects, including prototype builds, risk assessments, and validation activities.
- Develop and execute validation and test plans for devices.
- Create technical documentation, including drawings and work instructions, and train team members on new tools and equipment.
- Design test methods or follow established protocols to ensure devices meet patient needs.
- Collaborate across R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, and Operations to deliver compliant process solutions.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in an Engineering degree program or a recent Bachelor's degree graduate in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering.
- A basic understanding of engineering principles and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with statistical analysis for data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Experience with SolidWorks and Minitab is preferred.
- Ability to work both independently and within a diverse team of engineers.
- Strong learning agility, a hands-on approach, and a positive attitude.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: This position is hybrid and requires working from the office at least three days per week.
- Term: Winter 2027 start.
- Compensation: This is a paid position with an anticipated salary range between $34,000 and $57,900, depending on experience and qualifications.
