About the role#
As a Packaging Engineering Co-op, you will assist in the development and implementation of packaging and labeling solutions for medical devices. You will work under the direct guidance of Packaging Engineers to compile and analyze data, helping to establish performance standards for new or modified products. This role ensures that packaging maintains the integrity and safety of medical devices from production to end-use.
What you'll do#
- Develop medical device packaging testing in alignment with ASTM standards.
- Execute test method verification and validation activities.
- Document procedures for all testing processes.
- Complete project deliverables including test protocols, reports, rationales, and change control activities.
- Compile, analyze, and report on operational, test, and research data.
- Participate in hands-on activities such as lab testing, design, prototyping, and usability testing.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors of Science program in Packaging with a graduation date between December 2027 and May 2030.
- Commitment to a full 8-month co-op assignment.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Reliable daily transportation to Arden Hills and Maple Grove, Minnesota.
- Intermediate knowledge of paperboard, corrugated, flexible packaging films, Tyvek, thermoformed trays, and packaging equipment.
- Completion of Distribution Dynamics or Medical Device Packaging coursework.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid, on-site position based in Arden Hills and Maple Grove, Minnesota.
- The term for this role is Fall 2027.
- This position is designated as safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test.
