About the role#
This is a 12-month co-op or new graduate placement starting in January 2027. You will join the Research & Development Engineering Department, where the team focuses on the design, prototyping, and manufacturing transfer of medical devices. You will work on regulatory approvals, patents, and clinical research studies.
What you'll do#
- Assist in device development through 3D modeling, prototyping, and testing.
- Conduct verification and validation testing to confirm design requirements.
- Prepare regulatory filings for government bodies.
- Support clinical trials and coordinate with clinicians and external suppliers.
- Create technical documentation, including drawings and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines while maintaining a commitment to patient safety and product quality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from a bachelor's degree program in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Physics.
- Experience in laboratory or engineering test environments and the use of standard measurement tools.
- Prior internship, co-op, or project experience involving product design or testing.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and documentation.
- Strong interest in biomedical technology and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and Minitab is preferred.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, LEAN, and ISO 13485 standards is an asset.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Location & details#
- Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
- Work Modality: This is an on-site position requiring attendance at the local office at least four days per week.
- Term: Winter 2027 start.
- Compensation: This is a paid position.
