About the role#
We are looking for an engineering student to join our team in Sherbrooke. You will take responsibility for a critical piece of manufacturing equipment and serve as a technical resource for continuous improvement. This role offers the chance to gain a deep understanding of aluminum transformation processes while working on projects that impact safety, reliability, and operational performance.
What you'll do#
- Analyze equipment failures to identify root causes and improve reliability.
- Work on machine safety projects, including risk assessments and corrective measures.
- Optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and quality.
- Track equipment performance indicators and recommend specific improvements.
- Develop technical solutions to increase equipment availability and efficiency.
- Work with engineering, maintenance, operations, and health and safety teams.
- Present your analysis and data-driven recommendations to the team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering bachelor program at the Université de Sherbrooke.
- Strong interest in equipment reliability and process optimization.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Capacity to build relationships with operators and value their field expertise.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software like SolidWorks or Inventor is an asset.
