About the role#
We are looking for a Rail Infrastructure Co-Op Student to join our team for the Winter 2027 term. You will support Trackwork Engineers and EITs on rail and transit projects across Canada. This is a full-time, paid position based in Toronto. We offer a hybrid work environment.
What you'll do#
- Support the production of design and construction documentation.
- Create rail alignment, profile, trackplan-schematic, and trackwork detail drawings.
- Develop yard and maintenance facility layouts, cross sections, and track clearance envelopes.
- Produce ductbank and cable routing specifications, transit signage, and guideway lighting drawings.
- Use CAD and 3D software tools to develop design solutions.
- Perform analyses to solve design issues.
- Attend site visits to assist with project design and construction activities.
What you'll need#
- Currently working toward a degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with the Track Design Handbook for Light Rail Transit (TCRP 155).
- Ability to apply AREMA, EN, AS, or other international standards in alignment and trackwork design.
- Understanding of the Canadian transit environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments.
- Self-motivated and a strong team player.
