About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Roadway Design Engineering Intern for our office in Novi, Michigan. This position is for the Summer 2027 term and provides hands-on experience in engineering services. You will work on-site and participate in our intern development initiative, which includes mentorship, client site visits, and professional learning sessions.
What you'll do#
- Gather, log, and summarize field notes for technical studies and projects.
- Establish and maintain records of technical data and project documents.
- Perform mathematical calculations to support engineering tasks.
- Complete routine design assignments using Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
- Assist the team in preparing graphic displays and presentation materials.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least 50 hours toward a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program.
- A basic understanding of transportation engineering principles and design.
- Proficiency in math, computation, and data entry using spreadsheets or databases.
- Drafting and CAD ability, with a preference for applicants who have experience with OpenRoads Designer.

- Compensation: $25 to $31 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
