About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring an Archaeology Intern for our Atlanta, Georgia office for the Summer 2027 term. This is a paid, part-time position that requires on-site work. You will gain hands-on experience by supporting our environmental services team on various projects.
What you'll do#
- Participate in archaeological resource field surveys.
- Conduct background research on archaeological resources using primary and secondary sources.
- Evaluate historic resources for eligibility in the National Register of Historic Places.
- Assist in the preparation of Archaeological Resource Survey Reports for state and federal agencies.
- Travel to project sites in Georgia and neighboring states, which may include occasional overnight trips.
What you'll need#
- Completed at least 60 hours toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in anthropology, archaeology, art history, urban planning, public history, American Studies, or a closely aligned field.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in a related technical field.
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS is helpful but not required.

- Compensation: $23 to $29 per hour, depending on skills and experience.
