About the role#
Kimley-Horn is hiring a Transportation Planning Intern for our office in Austin, Texas. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work with our transportation team to analyze data and support project delivery.
What you'll do#
- Analyze large transportation datasets using Python, GIS, and related tools.
- Build and maintain Python-based analytical tools and automated workflows for scenario planning.
- Create maps, charts, and graphics to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Perform spatial analysis in ArcGIS to evaluate travel markets, multimodal networks, and land use.
- Evaluate data limitations and propose alternative approaches.
- Assist team leadership with project organization, task coordination, and quality control.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Urban Planning, City and Regional Planning, Transportation Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
