About the role#
Kimley-Horn is hiring engineering students for a summer 2027 internship in Terrell, Texas. This is a full-time, on-site position. You will work on pre-construction design and planning while gaining experience with industry-standard software.
What you'll do#
- Use technical software to analyze, create, and check project deliverables.
- Contribute to civil engineering design, planning, and permitting for projects of various sizes.
- Assist project managers with complex problem-solving.
- Work with team members across different disciplines to develop design solutions.
- Learn federal, state, and local regulations along with internal company standards.
- Gain proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, Excel, Microstation, VISSIM, Open Roads, Synchro, or GIS.
What you'll need#
- You must be currently pursuing a bachelor or master degree from an ABET accredited program.
- Eligible majors include Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Biological, Biosystems, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering.
- Students pursuing a degree in Engineering Technology are also encouraged to apply.
