About the role#
AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Roadway Design Engineering Intern for our Raleigh office for the Summer 2027 term. This position offers hands-on experience with transportation projects across North Carolina. You will work alongside engineers and designers to support projects from preliminary design through final plan production.
What you'll do#
- Assist with the preparation of construction plans, reports, and project documentation.
- Apply NCDOT roadway design standards and engineering best practices.
- Use engineering software to develop and revise project deliverables.
- Collaborate with team members in a professional environment.
- Participate in the Explore intern development initiative.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Civil Engineering at an ABET accredited program.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with CADD software, specifically AutoCAD or Openroads Designer.
- Strong problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills.
