About the role#
As a Process Development Engineering Intern, you will help bridge the gap between research and development and full-scale manufacturing. You will contribute to the creation of medical devices by developing technologies, systems, and processes that improve product quality and reduce variation. This role involves working across various business areas, such as Electrophysiology, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Diagnostics, Endoscopy, and Urology.
What you'll do#
- Connect Research & Development to Manufacturing by building robust processes and technologies.
- Design, build, test, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, fixtures, and tooling through hands-on work.
- Develop manufacturing processes that scale to high-volume production.
- Apply data analysis and statistical methods to evaluate process performance and guide engineering decisions.
- Support core development activities, including laser processing, bonding, molding, mechanical testing, and process validation.
- Partner with technology leaders and cross-functional teams to implement new solutions.
- Maintain the integrity of Process Plans and develop Manufacturing Instructions to support the product lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Material Science/Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029.
- Ability to commit to a full 12-week internship during one of two windows: May 17, 2027 to August 6, 2027, or May 24, 2027 to August 13, 2027.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, manufacturing, or fixture design.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD tools.
- Ability to perform basic data analysis using tools like Minitab, JMP, or Excel.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a focus on teamwork.
- Exposure to Six Sigma, process validation, 3D printing, or materials science is a plus.

- Location: Arden Hills, MN.
- Modality: Hybrid (requires being in the office at least four days per week).
- Transportation: Reliable transportation to the Arden Hills corporate location is required.
