About the role#
Baker Construction is hiring Interns and Co-ops to work on-site at our construction projects. You will gain practical experience to supplement your academic coursework while working alongside our team. This is a paid, full-time position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Complete assigned tasks on the jobsite.
- Collaborate with team members and managers to resolve project issues.
- Document your outcomes and the resolutions to problems.
- Champion an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) environment.
- Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing required PPE.
- Attend toolbox talks and provide input for safety task analysis.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a college or university degree program.
- Prior work experience in any field.
- Ability to perform basic math, including percentages and ratios.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to exert heavy physical effort, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to navigate the job site and follow written or oral instructions.
- Willingness to ask questions of foremen and co-workers.
- Basic Spanish proficiency is a plus.
