About the role#
As a Process Development Engineering Intern, you will bridge the gap between research and development and manufacturing. You will help create technologies and systems that support the production of medical devices. This role involves working with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and improve product quality.
What you'll do#
- Connect research and development to manufacturing by building robust processes and systems.
- Develop manufacturing processes and test systems that scale to high-volume production while reducing variation.
- Apply engineering, chemistry, and material science fundamentals to process development and characterization.
- Partner with technology leaders to bring new capabilities to life.
- Ensure all work conforms to global process development procedures and quality requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of process plans, including material selection and the sequencing of manufacturing tasks.
- Create and update manufacturing instructions to support the product development lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science/Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029.
- Ability to commit to a full 12-week internship during Summer 2027.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Experience with basic data analysis and statistical tools like Minitab, JMP, or Excel.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively within a technical team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Motivation to learn and perform hands-on work.

- This is a paid, full-time internship.
- The role follows a hybrid work model.
- You must have reliable transportation to work at our Arden Hills and Maple Grove, Minnesota locations.
- This position is designated as safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test.
