About the role#
As a Packaging Engineering Co-op, you will support the development and implementation of packaging and labeling solutions for medical devices. You will work under the direct supervision of packaging engineers to ensure the integrity and safety of products from production to end-use. This role involves data analysis, performance standard establishment, and ensuring packaging systems meet regulatory requirements.
What you'll do#
- Compile, analyze, and report on operational, test, and research data.
- Establish performance standards for new or modified products and processes.
- Develop medical device packaging testing in conjunction with ASTM standards.
- Execute test method verification and validation activities.
- Document procedures for performing tests.
- Complete project deliverables such as test protocols, reports, rationales, and change control activities.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelors of Science program in Packaging with a graduation date between December 2027 and May 2030.
- Ability to commit to a full 8-month co-op assignment from May 2027 through December 2027.
- Intermediate knowledge of paperboard, corrugated, flexible packaging films, Tyvek, thermoformed trays, and packaging equipment.
- Completion of coursework in Distribution Dynamics or Medical Device Packaging.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently to plan and execute project tasks.
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position based in St. Paul, Minnesota.
- The role is on-site, requiring attendance at the Arden Hills and Maple Grove locations.
- Reliable daily transportation is required.
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- This position is designated as safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test.
