About the role#
As a Process Development Engineering Intern, you will help bridge the gap between Research & Development and Manufacturing. You will support the creation of technologies and systems that enable new medical devices and therapies. This role involves working within business areas such as Electrophysiology, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Diagnostics, Endoscopy, and Urology.
What you'll do#
- Connect Research & Development to Manufacturing by building robust processes and systems.
- Develop manufacturing processes and test systems that scale to high-volume production while reducing variation.
- Apply engineering, controls, automation, and programming fundamentals to test systems and manufacturing processes.
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot automated equipment, data acquisition, and test solutions.
- Partner with technology leaders and cross-functional teams to implement new capabilities.
- Ensure all work conforms to global process development procedures and quality requirements.
- Maintain responsibility for the integrity of Process Plans and the sequencing of manufacturing tasks.
- Develop and maintain Manufacturing Instructions throughout the product lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029.
- Ability to commit to a full 12-week internship during one of two windows: May 17, 2027 to August 6, 2027, or May 24, 2027 to August 13, 2027.
- Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
- Experience with data analysis tools like Minitab, JMP, or Excel.
- Interest in LabVIEW, PLC programming, or industrial automation platforms such as Rockwell Automation is a plus.
- Ability to work hands-on with a team and take initiative.
Location & details#
- Location: Arden Hills, Minnesota.
- Modality: Hybrid (requires being in the office at least four days per week).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time and paid.
- Requirement: Reliable transportation to the Arden Hills site is mandatory.
