About the role#
As an R&D Engineering Systems Co-op, you will join an interdisciplinary team providing technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, software, and catheter engineering. You will collaborate with partners in marketing, regulatory, and quality departments to support projects from concept through commercialization and sustainment of mapping systems. This role provides hands-on experience with system requirements, risk analysis, and verification activities.
What you'll do#
- Help define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows, and input/output processes.
- Solve system problems by analyzing situations and recommending corrective or alternative actions.
- Document system architecture and design control elements through technical documents, reports, and memos.
- Collaborate to translate customer needs into technical requirements by partnering with cross-functional teams.
- Define, troubleshoot, and execute testing for system design and verification activities.
- Assist with industry standards testing for safety and EMC in accordance with IEC 60601-1.
- Support risk analysis activities for assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering.
- Expected graduation between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Proficiency in MATLAB programming.
- Knowledge of system-level programming in C, Linux, and Python.
- Strong understanding of hardware/software systems.
- High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work the full program duration from May 17th or May 24th through December 17th, 2027.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This position is located in Waltham, Massachusetts.
- The role is on-site, requiring presence in the office at least five days per week.
- You must have reliable transportation to and from the office.
- This is a paid, full-time co-op position.
- This role is deemed safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test.
