About the role#
As an R&D Engineering Systems Co-op, you will join an interdisciplinary team working on mechanical, electrical, software, and catheter engineering. You will support projects from the initial concept through to commercialization and help maintain existing mapping systems. This role involves working closely with marketing, regulatory, and quality teams to support cross-functional objectives.
What you'll do#
- Define and analyze system requirements, clinical workflows, and input/output processes.
- Solve system problems by analyzing situations and recommending corrective actions.
- Document system architecture and design control elements through reports, memos, and technical documents.
- Translate customer needs into technical requirements by working with field, marketing, and service teams.
- Define, troubleshoot, and execute testing for system design and verification.
- Assist with industry standards testing for safety and EMC, specifically following IEC 60601-1.
- Support risk analysis activities for assigned projects.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor’s or graduate degree program in biomedical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or electrical engineering.
- Expected graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and a solid understanding of hardware and software systems.
- Ability to commit to the full program duration from January 11, 2027, through either August 6 or August 13, 2027.
- Knowledge of system-level programming in C, Linux, and Python.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in documentation and report writing.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time, on-site position located at 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
- You must have reliable transportation to the office, as the company does not provide transportation support.
- This role is designated as safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test as part of the hiring process.
