About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work with the transmission system, Real-Time Power Market Operations Center, and Generation Operation Center at Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation. You will work alongside staff to support power production and delivery projects. This role requires the ability to work independently and maintain situational awareness.
What you'll do#
- Assist with projects related to power production, power delivery operations, and transmission facilities.
- Use computer-based systems to analyze, model, and assemble data.
- Organize documents to meet division records management standards.
- Help TOC staff with their daily duties.
- Analyze transmission system operating data for reporting purposes.
- Monitor and incorporate changes to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Support plant testing activities, which may involve working in challenging weather conditions.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a STEM degree program at an accredited college.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
