About the role#
The Load Forecasting Intern will join the Planning and Market Operations Division at Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation. This role supports our team in forecasting, data analysis, and portfolio optimization. You will work on projects that help us maintain reliable electric service for our members.
What you'll do#
- Build analytics-ready data sets.
- Support the development of strategies for portfolio optimization.
- Review forecasts and strategies through analytical methods.
- Test the accuracy and usefulness of our forecasts.
- Create reports using business intelligence tools.
- Maintain a regular and punctual schedule, including working outside of standard office hours when necessary to support our operations.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Data Analytics, or Meteorological Sciences.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong skills in analytical writing, technical documentation, and problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Experience with SAS, R, or Python programming.
- Knowledge of SQL and statistical or time-series forecasting methods.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools like SiSense, PowerBI, or Tableau.
- Experience using AI software such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
