About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineer Intern supports operational excellence and product quality at our Hartford facility. You will work to deliver defect-free products on time while reducing waste and costs. This role involves balancing technical engineering tasks with hands-on support for the production floor.
What you'll do#
- Design and implement manufacturing processes based on customer specifications.
- Create technical drawings, quality specifications, and work instructions.
- Serve as the main technical contact for customer quality concerns.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action processes for internal and external issues.
- Research and test new manufacturing methods to improve throughput.
- Provide engineering support to resolve production floor challenges in real time.
- Manage project milestones and lead technical product reviews.
- Maintain engineering documentation libraries and version control.
- Lead special initiatives or continuous improvement teams.
- Support process troubleshooting and maintain a clean, organized work environment using 5S principles.
What you'll need#
- An Associate Degree in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Proficiency in CAD software.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing engineering environment is preferred, though a combination of education and industrial experience will be considered.
