About the role#
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support the Engineering department in power production and delivery operations. You will work alongside staff to help maintain reliable and affordable electricity for our members across the state. This position offers the chance to gain experience in both office and field settings.
What you'll do#
- Assist with projects focused on power production, power delivery, and transmission facilities.
- Analyze, model, and assemble data using computer-based systems.
- Organize and review documents to meet division records management standards.
- Help with procurement and contracting for equipment, materials, or construction labor.
- Perform field work at various facilities.
- Assist with process mapping and support engineering staff in their daily duties.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies, laws, and regulations.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Mechanical Engineering program.
- A valid state driver's license.
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and general technical aptitude.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
- Comfort working in challenging weather conditions during plant testing activities.
