About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering student for a summer 2027 internship at the North Anna Power Station. You will join the Nuclear Engineering Auxiliary Systems Engineering Group. This role provides technical support to Maintenance and Operations teams on a variety of component and system level issues. You will work on-site to gain practical experience with nuclear power plant design and operations.
What you'll do#
- Provide technical support to Maintenance and Operations for system and component issues.
- Develop repair recommendations, design modifications, and engineering documentation for planned work.
- Perform analyses and evaluations on equipment such as pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
- Support field inspections of plant components and systems.
- Actively manage systems and components to ensure reliable performance.
- Support the development of design modification packages.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering program at a four-year college or university.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA.
- An anticipated graduation date of December 2028 or later.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations, and industry practices.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- A personal commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work well in a team.
