About the role#
Dominion Energy is seeking a Power Station Intern to work at the Virginia City Hybrid Center in St. Paul, Virginia. This internship offers hands-on experience in a power generation environment. You will work alongside professionals across various functional areas, including operations, maintenance, engineering, environmental, safety, and technical services.
What you'll do#
- Support daily operations and maintenance activities at the generation facility.
- Assist with equipment inspections and collect or analyze operational data.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and station reliability efforts.
- Conduct project research to support safe and efficient plant operations.
- Observe day-to-day plant activities and attend team meetings.
- Develop an understanding of power generation processes, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Expected graduation date in 2028 or 2029.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to apply engineering concepts in a power generation setting.
