About the role#
We are looking for an electrical engineering student to join our Distribution and Sub Transmission Engineering Department for the summer 2027 session. You will work alongside experienced staff to support planning projects and system analysis. This internship runs from May through August 2027.
What you'll do#
- Evaluate the impact of customer owned generation sites and new proposed customer loads.
- Use system modeling software to check system limits and power quality requirements.
- Develop recommendations for system upgrades and protection.
- Collaborate with the operations, asset health, metering, and protection teams.
- Enhance existing engineering tools.
- Present your modeled results to customers.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing an electrical engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
- You have finished at least your sophomore year of college.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Columbus, Nebraska.
- This is an on-site, full-time summer internship.
- Travel of up to 25% may be required, typically within Nebraska.
