About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will work on software development for tactical radio equipment. You will apply computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles to build and test systems. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure hardware and software interfaces function correctly.
What you'll do#
- Support all phases of the software development life cycle, from requirements analysis to final testing.
- Develop software test procedures, programs, and technical documentation.
- Use modeling tools to establish operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and repair software defects.
- Work with various languages including C++, C#, C, Java, Python, and SQL across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, Digital Arts & Sciences, or a related field at an accredited university.
- Familiarity with or interest in C++, C, Java, HTML5, XML, SQL, Linux, Unix.NET, real-time controls, or embedded systems.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Rochester, New York.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- The schedule follows a 9/80 format, where you work 80 hours over 9 days with every other Friday off.
- This is a paid internship.
