About the role#
As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work on the development of software for tactical radio equipment. You will apply computer science and engineering principles to support the full software development life cycle. This includes requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing of embedded software for real-time control systems.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software.
- Write software programs, create test procedures, and maintain related technical documentation.
- Use modeling tools and equipment to gather operating data and conduct experimental tests.
- Participate in peer reviews to identify, track, and fix software defects.
- Work with various programming languages including C++, C, C#, Java, Python, and SQL across Windows, Linux, and embedded real-time operating systems.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited university pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree.
- Relevant coursework in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Wireless Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, or Digital Arts and Sciences.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Rochester, New York.
- The role is on-site and full-time.
- The schedule follows a 9/80 format, meaning you work 80 hours over 9 days and have every other Friday off.
