About the role#
This is a 16-month co-op term based in Waterdown, Ontario. You will work under the guidance of your manager and the Senior Operations Engineer Lead. The position involves collaborating with Operations, Engineering, and Service teams to interpret technical information and recommend solutions. You will contribute to system and process changes to help achieve operational targets.
What you'll do#
- Lead and participate in projects related to Manufacturing Engineering activities within Operations.
- Provide mechanical design analysis and testing support for new and existing products.
- Participate in design reviews and support the verification and validation of new product designs.
- Partner with the Service Frontline ME team to resolve operational technical issues and develop new system processes.
- Use standard engineering methods and best practices to solve problems.
- Capture and analyze data regarding shop floor throughput, cycle times, and estimating accuracy.
- Create and maintain Assembly and Test Procedures.
- Support documentation updates, including service procedures, Work Instructions, and Manufacturing Execution System authoring.
- Review change requests from engineering and mechanical staff and implement changes as needed.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Community College or University Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program.
- Ability to complete a 16-month co-op term starting in May 2026.
- Current enrollment and good standing with a co-op program through an accredited university.
- Ability to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods Program clearance.
- Experience with a solid modeling CAD package, preferably SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with Electro-Mechanical Manufacturing Processes and the ability to read mechanical drawings.
- Strong technical communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a project-based environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
