About the role#
As a Quality Intern, you will coordinate, document, and report on quality control and quality assurance activities for construction projects. You will gain hands-on experience in the field or shop, supporting the team to ensure work meets contract documents, codes, and standards. This role is for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Understand project scope, quality requirements, and applicable quality plans.
- Coordinate inspections and tests to align with project schedules and production goals.
- Collaborate with operations to develop work packs and review them for readiness before construction begins.
- Manage source and receiving inspections for permanent materials and equipment.
- Evaluate supplier quality documentation for contract compliance.
- Monitor and forecast costs for third-party inspection and testing services.
- Perform and witness inspections and tests as directed.
- Conduct verification inspections for designated risk levels.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality records.
- Communicate test results to the project team and address client concerns.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Willingness to travel and relocate as needed.
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to doing the job right the first time.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for safety and a commitment to a safe work environment.
- Familiarity with construction quality control procedures and inspection techniques is preferred.
- Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
