About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience within the AECC Engineering department in Little Rock. You will work alongside engineers, analysts, and technicians to support power production and delivery projects. This is a full-time, paid position for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Assist with projects involving substation facilities, transmission lines, and hydroelectric generation.
- Use engineering software to create, design, analyze, and model data.
- Support procurement and contracting tasks for equipment, materials, and construction labor.
- Travel to various locations across Arkansas with staff to collect field data.
- Organize department drawings and documents to meet record management standards.
- Help with database development and process mapping.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Land Surveying degree program accredited by the EAC of ABET.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid state driver license.
- Ability to work independently and handle detailed, analytical tasks.
- Comfort working in various weather conditions during field activities.
- Experience with CAD or ESRI GIS software is helpful but not required.
