About the role#
ARA is looking for a Graduate Engineer Intern to support various projects within our Engineering Support Services team. This is a full-time, paid position based in Raleigh, North Carolina. We operate on a rolling basis and require on-site attendance.
What you'll do#
You will apply math, statistics, and engineering concepts to solve multi-disciplinary problems. Your work involves designing and developing physics-based methodologies, analytical algorithms, and software tools. You will tune existing algorithms and build new ones from the ground up. Additionally, you will participate in evaluating system and algorithm performance.
What you'll need#
- US Citizenship is required, as you must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- You must be a graduate student in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Experience taking a problem from a statement to a solution using math and science.
- A strong interest in developing modeling and simulation software in high-level languages.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Familiarity with modern C++ is preferred.
- Interest in DoD modeling and simulation technology, structural dynamics, blast effects, structural collapse, or probabilistic analysis.
- Ability to quickly learn new domains and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Prior or existing security clearance is a plus.
