About the role#
As an R&D Product Development Engineering Intern, you will work within the Connected Living Solutions business unit. This team develops advanced connectivity and sensor technologies for smart homes, including kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, lighting, security, and energy management. You will contribute to projects that focus on new product concepts and the redesign of existing products to improve material efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
What you'll do#
- Develop new product design concepts and present them to internal teams and external customers.
- Coordinate the creation of prototypes to show proof of concept.
- Create design of experiment plans to test products in various stress states.
- Prepare and participate in design reviews, failure mode and effects analysis reviews, and quality planning for new products.
- Gain knowledge on simulation techniques used in early product development.
- Interface with the global TE team to complete customer design reviews, testing, and manufacturability reviews.
- Interact with team members on cost savings and sustainability projects.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or pursuing a BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related major.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Preference is given to candidates with prior internship experience or those who have completed a major project.
