    About the role#

    As a Mechanical Engineering Intern within the Medical Business Unit, you will gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing processes for medical device components. You will work alongside engineers, operations, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing capabilities.

    What you'll do#

    • Support day-to-day manufacturing needs and help troubleshoot production issues.
    • Use structured problem-solving and data analysis to identify root causes and recommend improvements.
    • Assist with the design, procurement, fabrication, testing, and documentation of tooling and fixtures.
    • Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data to evaluate yield, process capability, cycle time, and performance trends.
    • Plan and execute engineering trials and update manufacturing instructions.
    • Collaborate across functions and present your project results at the end of the internship.

    What you'll need#

    • A high school diploma or GED.
    • Current enrollment in a BA/BS program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Equivalent experience or gap-year student status will be considered.
    • Relevant coursework, hands-on project experience, student organization involvement, or a prior internship.
    • Authorization to work in the U.S.

    • Location: Plymouth, Minnesota.
    • Term: Summer 2027.
    • Modality: This is a full-time, on-site position.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship.
