About the role#
This summer internship is based in the Aerospace, Defense, and Marine business unit. You will provide engineering support for heat-shrink, wire, and cable products. The role involves working with lead engineers to test materials and manage project data. You will gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while contributing to ongoing development and continuous improvement activities.
What you'll do#
- Design and execute material substitution and optimization trials with lead engineers.
- Collect, record, and analyze data from lab-scale and production-scale trials.
- Prepare and participate in design reviews, root cause investigations, failure mode and effects analysis, and quality planning.
- Communicate progress and results to project managers, product managers, and operations teams.
- Ensure products meet industry requirements such as REACH and ROHS.
- Organize experiments and support development tasks.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in or pursuing a BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Plastics/Polymer Engineering.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work on-site in Fremont, California.
- U.S. citizenship, national status, lawful permanent residency, asylee status, or refugee status is required due to export control regulations.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Prior internship experience or completion of a major project is preferred.
- Equivalent work experience or gap year status may be considered.
