About the role#
As a Software Engineering Intern, you will join the Digital Data Networks business unit. You will work alongside the Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering team to support the development of electro-mechanically controlled laser systems. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional engineering environment, focusing on the product development lifecycle from concept to launch.
What you'll do#
- Write sub-routines and applications to support advanced manufacturing processes.
- Assist with software prototyping, design, testing, and documentation.
- Participate in design verification and validation activities, including prototype builds and functional testing.
- Conduct code reviews and support testing to verify product performance.
- Design and iterate on mechanical components using industry-standard tools.
- Present project findings and technical updates to engineering and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality.
- Apply engineering fundamentals to real-world product development.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current enrollment in a BA/BS degree program for Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Preference for candidates with prior internship experience or a completed major project.
