About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to independently manage a specific area of responsibility with support from a supervisor and technical mentor. The position is a full-time, paid role based in Regina, Saskatchewan, for the Fall 2026 term.
What you'll do#
- Coordinate drawings and work specific scopes or trades.
- Review trade quotes and verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and coordinate sub-trade work.
- Participate in project meetings and supervise sub-trade activities.
- Conduct deficiency walks and maintain deficiency logs.
- Update project schedules and monitor manpower productivity.
- Issue warranties and coordinate progress photos.
- Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
- Verify site conditions and perform site layout using a total station.
- Maintain project record keeping.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Structural Engineering program, or Construction Management.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to lead and operate in an environment where priorities change frequently.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
- A sense of urgency and commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
- Residency or a valid work permit to work for Bird Construction.
