Student Project Coordinator

About the role#

Bird Construction is seeking a Student Project Coordinator for a co-op position starting in September 2026. This role provides an opportunity to independently manage specific areas of responsibility while receiving guidance from an assigned supervisor and technical mentor. This is a full-time, paid internship based on-site in Regina, Saskatchewan.

What you'll do#

• Coordinate drawings and work for specific scopes and trades.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Participate in project meetings and conduct deficiency walks to update logs.
• Update project schedules, create manual schedules, and monitor manpower productivity.
• Perform quantity takeoffs, supervise sub-trade work, and verify site conditions against drawings.
• Issue warranties, coordinate progress photos, and produce as-built drawings.
• Set up and maintain record keeping and layout site lines using a total station.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program, or a Construction Management program.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Ability to lead and operate in an environment where change happens frequently.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships.
• A sense of urgency and commitment to achieving project goals.
• Residency or a valid work permit allowing for employment with Bird Construction.
