About the role#
Bird Construction is seeking a Student Digital Construction Coordinator for a co-op position starting in January 2027. This internship offers a business-relevant project where you will manage your own area of responsibility with support from a supervisor and a technical mentor. We offer 4, 8, or 12-month terms in a supportive work environment.
What you'll do#
- Perform project duties related to Digital Construction deployment.
- Act as Model Administrator and maintain models for structural, architectural, and MEP systems.
- Facilitate site logistics plans and assist in developing schedule visualization models.
- Train project staff and subcontractors on software and workflows.
- Coordinate with BIM service providers, consultants, and internal detailers.
- Manage 3D laser scans and point cloud models.
- Prepare 4D simulations and export videos as needed.
- Assist in the administration of the BIM Execution Plan and record coordination sign-offs.
- Compile contract VDC close-out documentation and distribute revised models for change management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture program.
- Completion of at least one semester following the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Experience with Revit and Navisworks.
- Preferred experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revizto, and Fuzor.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships.
- A sense of urgency and commitment to achieving goals.
- A valid work permit or residency status allowing employment in Canada.
- Submission of a current transcript with your application.
