About the role#
We are looking for Virtual Construction Students to join our Toronto district within the Canadian Buildings Division. This is a full-time, paid internship opportunity available for 4 or 8 months, starting in January 2027. You will work on-site and gain exposure to construction projects while developing your technical skills.
What you'll do#
- Sketch site plans using JPG underlays in AutoCAD.
- Assist with planning for construction schedules and site layout documents, including site safety, access, trailers, temporary electricity, and crane logistics.
- Produce tower crane and man/material hoist working drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections.
- Format plot styles and manage various AutoCAD settings.
- Prepare job report binders and develop new work order forms.
- Build familiarity with building information modeling (BIM) software.
- Gain experience with scheduling programs, including Navisworks and Primavera P6 EPPM.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a Civil Engineering or Architecture program.
- A strong desire to work in a construction environment.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
- Ability to use standard office software, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
Location & details#
- Locations: Oakville, ON and Toronto, ON.
- Terms: Winter 2027 and Summer 2027.
- Pay: $21.37 to $31.34 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
