About the role#
This co-op position supports the Elevated Guideways and Stations contract for the Ontario Line. You will work with either the Station or Guideway team to provide technical assistance. This role offers exposure to the daily management of project construction, including scheduling, resource allocation, cost control, and the review of design drawings and specifications. You will work on-site in Toronto.
What you'll do#
- Maintain the organization of project drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation for field staff and managers.
- Track and coordinate documentation received from subcontractors.
- Work with Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Permits teams to support construction activities and regulatory compliance.
- Review and refine scopes of work to address project requirements and site-specific challenges, such as those at the Gerrard Station area.
- Assist superintendents, managers, and coordinators with daily tasks.
- Analyze construction drawings and technical specifications to support constructability reviews and field decision-making.
- Visit the site regularly to coordinate with field staff and observe construction progress.
- Prepare presentations for meetings and record meeting minutes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary program for Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
- A commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards with high attention to detail.
- A positive, collaborative attitude toward project goals.
- Beginner knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, building materials, and local regulations.
- Ability to work on-site under various weather and environmental conditions.
- Experience in the construction industry is an asset.
- Beginner knowledge of AutoCAD or Bluebeam is an asset.
