About the role#
We are seeking a student for a 4 or 8 month co-op position starting in January 2027. This role provides an opportunity to manage your own area of responsibility while receiving support from a supervisor and technical mentor. You will work on-site in Mississauga, Ontario, and gain exposure to real construction projects and design workflows.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction professionals within integrated design-build teams.
- Support design development and assist in reviewing technical drawings and specifications.
- Participate in team meetings, take minutes, and contribute to project planning and problem-solving discussions.
- Research materials, construction techniques, and building codes.
- Assist in preparing project documentation, design reports, and presentations.
- Monitor design progress, track changes, and help maintain design schedules.
- Coordinate the timely delivery of design team outputs.
- Take on additional tasks related to construction design as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering program.
- Completion of at least one more semester of education following the internship.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Residency or a valid work permit for Canada.
- A current transcript must be included with your application.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage priorities effectively.
- A positive, collaborative attitude and a sense of urgency in achieving goals.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam Studio, Revizto, and Smartsheet is an asset.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical or drug and alcohol testing if required by specific clients.
